NBDE NEW CHANGES FROM JANUARY 2012

NATIONAL BOARD DENTAL EXAMINATION : NEW RULES/REGULATIONS WITH EFFECT FROM JANUARY 2012 : For foreign Trained DENTISTS




Highligted HERE are two of the Biggest Changes : Rest of the things remain more so the same as before.

# NO NUMERICAL SCORES : Scores will be labelled as PASS/FAIL . Scores above 75 will be labelled as PASS.

# NO RETEST : For successfully passed candidates there will be no retest.
However a failed candidate can take retest after 6 months /after 12 months following 3rd failed attempt.Effective January 2012 Only 5 attempts are allowed for failed candidates.



The Joint Commission approved a transition from a reporting of numerical scores to a pass/fail reporting system in January 1, 2012. The Joint Commission specified that individuals taking the examination before January 1, 2012 will retain numerical scores. There has been no change made regarding the overall format of the NBDE it will remain for the foreseeable future a two part examination.
